British Columbia Credit Unions have gone from strength to strength in supporting their communities, so the results of the survey. Through their time, expertise and money, credit unions really make a difference in the community. Several of the BC credit unions have charitable foundations. Contributions to these foundations amounted to millions in disbursements.
Understanding the importance of community economic development and the role played by non-profit organizations, BC credit unions rewarded their efforts by waiving service charges and paying higher interest rates on deposits for more than 10,000 community organizations.
There are over 50 credit unions in B.C. Canada. The Canada Credit Union system employs more than 8,000 people of British Colombia Canada.
